Meet Annette, now Head of Strategy at Advance
Meet Annette Blou Pryce: a passionate photographer, sports enthusiast, and highly skilled strategist. With years of agency experience under her belt, Annette has spent the last six years running her own strategy consulting business, helping both B2B and B2C clients with their positioning strategies, brand DNAs, brand frameworks and strategic narratives.
With her extensive experience, strong leadership skills and passion for purpose-driven work, we’re thrilled to have Annette on board at Advance. Here’s a quick Q&A to get to know the latest addition to our strategy team.
Why did you choose Advance?
I was drawn to the culture and people here, as well as the idea of joining an agency that’s been delivering great work for nearly 50 years. Also, there’s a portfolio of diverse and interesting clients that I look forward to working with.
What do you look forward to most in the coming months?
Coming from running my own business, I’m excited to work with a bigger team and spend time with likeminded, intelligent and creative people.

Why is strategy important?
Most companies deliver briefs that are ‘inside the box’ because that’s where they operate in the day-to-day. I believe it is our job as strategists to help brands understand and embrace a larger perspective through identifying a winning aspiration: a purposeful agenda which connects closely to their business while also adding a deeper layer to their strategic narrative. This is where strategy really comes into play. A powerful winning aspiration can positively impact all sides of a business, from sales pitches to employee branding, thought leadership efforts, brand loyalty and more.

What excites you most about the industry today?
Given the complexity and severity of global issues today, companies have more of a chance now than ever to take the lead with impactful agendas that matter to them. This is exciting to me because, when you help a brand communicate at a greater aspirational level, you give them a voice that has the power to transform conversations across target audiences and establish a new relevance for both consumers and employees. This is especially meaningful for companies who seek to stand out from competitors, attract the best talent and penetrate new markets.
Final question: do you have any first impressions from your time at Advance so far?
I noticed from day one that people laugh a lot at the agency. I think that is really special and a sign of a truly caring and loving environment.
